Drift Chassis Kits
Best RC drift chassis...this is a loaded subject. Ask 10 people, you will get 10 different, passionate answers. This list is focused on two things: value/$ and availability of information to help tune the chassis for a newb. The best part: if you really like RC drifting, you will most likely end up owning all of these, plus more, so don't stress over your first chassis choice too much.
Redcat RDS
BEST VALUE
The Redcat RDS gets a bad rap from many, as it has a few annoying things that need ironed out quickly out of the box. Once you are past these easy tweaks out of the box, you will see the immense value Redcat offers in this car: carbon fiber chassis, adjustable turnbuckles, 100% tunable chassis....all at a VERY competitive price point. If you are patient, they also regularly go on sale! Having personally used this chassis for over a year as my main drift car - I 100% stand behind it being a solid choice for RC drifting.
Sakura D6
BUDGET FRIENDLY
This chassis seems to always be under-rated. Check your different suppliers, and ensure you are getting a GENUINE 3Racing Sakura D6. MANY companies offer clones, and you DO NOT want one of those. After getting a genuine version of this - enjoy it. Great performance out of the box, without a lot of fuss. I highly suggest the idler-gear version and recommend going lower rear motor layout.
Yokomo RD/SD
HIGHEST POTENTIAL
The very proven Yokomo RD & SD platform builds on a legacy from Yokomo that is hard to beat in the RC drift world. There are THOUSANDS of upgrades out there for this car. Of the chassis I recommend on this page, this is most likely the one you will keep for the longest. The RD starts at a lower level, more basic components - but still does great. The SD jumps you farther along the upgrade ladder with a car you may never touch once tuned.
